Token Authentication - Retry Threshold Introduced
To further enhance the security of the AMS SAR Portal, we have introduced a retry threshold on Token Authentication.
Configured in System Settings, you now have the ability to control the number of attempts an invited user can try and complete authorisation by using a token. The number of attempts can be configured between 5 and 100, with the default value being 25 attempts.
Invite User Settings
If you invite a user to view a manually uploaded request online, you will need to send an email invite. During the account signup process, the invited user will need to enter a token sent separately, either as an email or SMS. If this token is entered incorrectly x number of times (where x is the default retry threshold you have set), the access for the user will be revoked and the user removed from the invite. You will be able to re-invite the same or another user at any stage.
Internal Message Settings
If you send an internal message to a user and have Token set as the default authentication option, this is relevant to you. Currently the recipient will be prompted to enter in a token sent to them in a separate email. If this token is entered incorrectly x number of times (where x is the default retry threshold you have set), the access for the user will be revoked and the original message recalled. You will be able to send a new message to the same or another user at any stage within the internal messaging area of the request.
